Empowering the Unheard for an Inclusive Educational Future

In the heart of displacement and adversity, a movement is rising — led by young learners, tireless educators, and community advocates. At REDS, our advocacy for education is not just about access; it’s about dignity, justice, and lasting transformation.

Rooted in people, driven by purpose

Where Advocacy Meets the People

At Rohingya Education Development Society (REDS), advocacy is not just an idea — it’s a movement lived every day within the community. From door-to-door awareness campaigns to small group discussions beneath trees, our volunteers engage directly with families, elders, and youth. These grassroots efforts aim to shift mindsets, challenge barriers, and mobilize communities around the fundamental right to education. We work hand-in-hand with local voices to shape policies, open pathways, and build a culture where learning is not a privilege, but a promise kept.

Ensuring Every Child’s Right to Learn

The Fight for Access to Education

Access to education remains one of the greatest challenges for Rohingya children — yet it is met with unwavering determination. In makeshift classrooms built from bamboo and tarpaulin, children sit on the floor, eager to write, read, and dream beyond borders. Volunteer teachers, often from within the community, rise as beacons of hope, using chalkboards and heartfelt lessons to light the path forward. At REDS, we work to expand and strengthen these safe learning spaces, ensuring no child is left behind.

What We Advocate For

Education for All Rohingya

We strive to ensure that every Rohingya child has access to quality education, overcoming obstacles of displacement and poverty. Education opens doors to a brighter future and empowers the next generation.

Rohingya Women Empowerment

We work to create opportunities for Rohingya women and girls, breaking down barriers to equality. Empowerment through education and leadership helps build stronger, more resilient communities.

Rohingya Rights Awareness

We work to ensure Rohingya individuals understand their basic rights. This knowledge helps protect their dignity and fosters community participation. By raising awareness, we empower people to claim justice and equality.

Why Advocacy is Urgent?

  • Nearly 90% of refugee children still lack access to basic education.
  • Only 5% of Rohingya Boys and girls enroll in formal learning programs.
  • Over 70% of youth have limited awareness of their rights.
  • Dropout rates exceed 50% within the first year of schooling.
The Rohingya community faces an unprecedented education crisis. Nearly 75% of refugee children remain without access to basic schooling, leaving them vulnerable to long-term hardship. Girls, in particular, face additional barriers that limit their learning opportunities. Without urgent advocacy, this gap will widen, perpetuating cycles of poverty and marginalization. Education is more than a classroom—it is a lifeline that empowers individuals, strengthens communities, and builds hope for a better future. Our work demands immediate action to break these barriers and ensure every child’s right to learn is upheld.
Rohingya Youth Taking the Lead

Rohingya Youth Leading the Way Toward a Future of Dignity and Change

Rohingya youth are driving change from within. Through workshops, peer learning, and leadership training, they are taking active roles in advocating for education and equality. With the right support, they are becoming powerful voices for their community’s future.

Rohingya youth are not just participants — they are leaders. From organizing peer workshops to speaking out in awareness campaigns, young people are at the heart of our advocacy work. Their voices bring fresh energy, bold ideas, and a vision for lasting change. By empowering youth with knowledge, training, and a platform, we are building a generation that stands up for rights, education, and equality — for themselves and for the whole community.
